General 1. When and where can I get reagents? 2. What is my lab code? 3. I have a question. 4. Occasionally my PDF document displays with garbled text. Why is that? 5. Your PDF documents are too big. How can I find anything? Why don't you have a table of contents available? 6. Is it possible to purchase individual cell lines or do you have to purchase the entire set? For example, I only need a few of the SSOP and Sequencing Control cell lines and these are not included in the QC sets. Thank you! 1. When and where can I get my reagents? Reference cells are ready now. An order form can be found on the website at (http://www.ihwg.org/forms/ref_qc.pdf). The Quality Control Panel is also ready and can be ordered once you establish the Workshop typing protocols. Low/intermediate DR typing reagents are available now through Lifecodes. Use the order form found at (http://www.ihwg.org/forms/Lifecodes.pdf). Low/intermediate A/B reagents are still being developed. As the list of reagent resources come on-line, you can find a comprehensive list here. And for questions/answers about typing technology, try the SSOP Frequently Asked Questions. 2. What is my labcode? Use the labcodes page search here. If your lab is not listed, you may not be enrolled in the workshop. Please submit the enrollment form and we will assign you a labcode right away. 3. I have a question. Another form! Please submit your question here (and any comments or suggestions) and it will be forwarded to the appropriate Component Chair for an answer. Frequently asked questions will show-up on these pages. Remarkable!! 4. Occasionally my PDF document displays with garbled text. Why is that? There is a glitch in the PDF software. You should be able to remedy this by adjusting the resolution of your pdf page. On the lower left hand corner of your monitor there is a box with a percentage number. Click on the arrow to adjust the size of the text display. It should clear right up. 5. Your PDF documents are too big. How can I find anything? Why don't you have a table of contents available? PDF documents have a "Navigation Pane" which is usually hidden. When your PDF document opens up try this out, and you should be able to jump around the document. ![]() 6. Is it possible to purchase individual cell lines or do you have to purchase the entire set? For example, I only need a few of the SSOP and Sequencing Control cell lines and these are not included in the QC sets. Thank you! The reference cell panels being distributed to Workshop participants for use as positive and negative controls consist of DNA samples extracted from B-lymphoblastoid cell lines that express relevant sequence polymorphisms. The SSOP reference panel consists of 52 DNA samples of 10 micrograms each; the SBT reference panel set consists of 32 DNA samples of 10 micrograms each. The reference panels are usually shipped as complete sets, but individual DNA samples (10 ug each) are available for $5.00 each from the Cell and Gene Bank. To order, you may use the Reference Cell Panel order form available on this IHWG web site (please indicate your specific request in the section marked "other") or you may contact Eric Mickelson (emickels@fhcrc.org) or Ji Pei (jpei@fhcrc.org) directly via email with your request. |
