Several different DNA-based typing methods are being considered by the Human Diversity Component to study HLA class I and class II allele and haplotype frequencies among diverse populations. Only data generated by typing methods and reagents which received prior approval by the 13th IHWC organizing committee will be acceptable. Data entry into the IHWC database will be collected and limited to defined fields. Only raw typing data will be accepted. When the results of this survey are available, the Anthropology Organizing Committee will make a final recommendation about which methods/reagents should be approved. Please indicate your preference for a particular method below:

Currently, HLA class I (A, B, C) typing can be carried out using SSOP-Dot Blot, SBT, or Reverse Line Strip - Immobilized Probe array formats. The cost of each method can be found at http://www.ihwg.org/forms/reagentforms.htm. Which of these systems are you interested in using to carry out HLA class I typings?
